Tool Steel HDS H13


HDS H13 Tool Steel is a flexible chromium-molybdenum hot work steel that is frequently used in hot and cold work tooling applications. H13's hot hardness (hot strength) resists thermal fatigue cracking caused by cyclic heating and cooling cycles in hot work tooling applications.H13 is also employed in a number of cold work tooling applications due to its high toughness and excellent heat treatment resilience.

H13 is utilized for more hot work tooling applications than any other tool steel due to its exceptional combination of high toughness and resistance to thermal fatigue cracking (also known as heat checking).

In these applications, H13 outperforms typical alloy steels such as 4140 in terms of hardenability and wear resistance.s
