This grade boasts the highest hardness - 50HRC - among all stainless steel grades.
Similar to grade 420, there are other martensitic steels that contain vanadium, sulphur, and molybdenum in their composition. The grade 440 series also falls under this category. Additionally, there is a non-standard grade called 420C with slightly higher carbon content compared to grade 420.
